Our invitation to do the show open and graphic package for the 2010 PromaxBDA design awards was an honor and a challenge. Salt used the opportunity to pay homage to design and its process by creating a short film entitled, You Are Here. It is the classic story of a designer, struggling to find an idea, who ditches traditional process to pursue inspiration by simply living.

When SALT was given the opportunity to pitch the visual branding identity for Ridley and Tony Scott’s CBS TV show NUMB3RS, we had no idea that it would be the beginning of a longstanding, concept-driven relationship. At our first pitch meeting, with our one hundred reference and style frames laid out before us, Ridley was immediately drawn to the wealth of imagery and how each frame contributed to the visual language of the show. And, as the show’s aesthetic foundation further evolved, so did our ability to better integrate production into the graphic content of each episode. This became our signature methodology throughout the seasons.
Executive Producer Ken Sanzel recently commented on us: “It would have been good enough to work with people who made any idea we had into reality, but we got a lot more. SALT not only helped evolve the look of NUMB3RS, but also evolved with it. Every week was a new creative discussion and challenge, and they were always ambitious in their imagination and deft in their execution. Once I realized that there were no boundaries to their abilities, we were able to push the style of the show into a myriad of new and exciting directions."
SALT has been credited for not only the design and animation, but also for directing insert shoots and talent, vfx supervision, and for much of the 2D and 3D visual effects that are typically seen on the show. In addition, we created a branding style guide that was shared amongst producers, directors, editors, and artists.
Over the course of six seasons, SALT is proud to have been regarded as a partner to the show. We’re sad to see the series end, but it feels amazing to have been a part of the hit from start to finish. Thank you, everyone at NUMB3RS!

52nd Annual Grammy Awards
A campaign to celebrate the importance of fans to pop music and it's icons. Salt worked with Chiat Day LA to bring it's Grammy Awards 'We're All Fans' campaign to life for a series of broadcast TV spots. Utilizing found social media, Salt was able to create a vast collage of fan feedback and performances to speak to that important relationship between the artist and their fans.

Salt was challenged to generate an eye catching promo campaign for the return of college football to Fox Sports Net. Culver City creative studio, Salt, was tagged to bring still art to life, starting with the work of ethereal duo, The Clayton Brothers. The spot was created for FuelTV, the de-facto leader in action sports programming. Soulman Daniel Johnston's, 'True Love Will Find You in the End' provides haunting, yet inspiring music for the piece.
